Reference PCM R2R Ladder
Free from conventional DAC chips and Delta-Sigma processing, purist Statement DAC delivers native, bit-accurate PCM playback with breathtaking realism. From its laser-trimmed R2R architecture to its ultra-low-noise power supply, every element is engineered to preserve the soul of the recording. This is digital, redefined—crafted for listeners who demand nothing less than truth in sound.
The Purist Statement DAC is a fully discrete, native PCM digital-to-analog converter that forgoes conventional DAC chips and hybrid Delta-Sigma methods, ensuring an uncolored, bit-perfect conversion for truly authentic sound. Unlike mass-produced alternatives, it uses laser-trimmed resistors, ultra-fast switching components, and precise microcontroller-based control, delivering unmatched dynamics and sonic integrity without the losses of I/V conversion stages. It generates output voltage directly, without signal degradation, and avoids misleading “32-bit” marketing claims by offering true native resolution. Complementing this is a custom-engineered power supply that achieves over 150dB signal-to-noise ratio—surpassing even battery supplies—without the drawbacks of oversized capacitors or buffer distortion. Every element is designed for purity, speed, and maximum fidelity, making the Statement DAC a true reference in digital audio.
Engineered for Sonic Purity
Every detail of the Purist Statement DAC is engineered to achieve one goal: absolute sonic fidelity. From mathematically precise oversampling to feedback-free circuitry and ultra-stable clocking, each innovation serves to preserve the soul of the original recording. Combined with advanced shielding, isolated digital inputs, and precision power delivery, these technologies work together to remove every barrier between the listener and the music.
SMART-Oversampling
This software-controlled linear oversampling technique avoids common interpolation errors. By processing audio with mathematical precision, it maintains the integrity of high-resolution files and delivers cleaner, more accurate sound.
Digital Isolated Input
To preserve signal purity, the Digital Isolated Input uses galvanic isolation with its own dedicated power supply. This ensures complete separation from digital interference, eliminating noise that could otherwise affect the analog output.
Sync Buffer
Sync Buffer ensures both stereo channels are cached and played back in perfect time alignment, virtually eliminating jitter. This results in improved stereo imaging and clarity with ultra-precise timing.
PURE SOUND Technology
Advanced digital filtering algorithms guarantee authentic playback. Designed to avoid coloration or distortion, PURE SOUND ensures that what you hear remains true to the original studio recording.
Native-Out
Native-Out provides the direct analog output from the DAC without any buffering or additional circuitry in the signal path. The result is the purest possible analog signal—untouched and uncolored.
Zero Feedback
A completely feedback-free circuit design avoids the common issues of phase shift and time smear caused by feedback loops. This approach delivers a more open, natural, and dynamic sound signature.
Shielding
Each component is housed in its own stainless steel, non-magnetic chamber, preventing electromagnetic interference. This meticulous shielding maintains a quiet background and maximizes sonic detail.
POL-Power
Point-of-Load (POL) power delivery places precision low-noise power supplies directly at critical circuit points. This minimizes voltage fluctuations and interference, enhancing dynamic range and overall sound quality.
High Precision Master Clock
The onboard master clock operates with less than 0.5 picoseconds of jitter. This ultra-stable timing reference ensures extremely accurate digital-to-analog conversion and razor-sharp musical detail.
The art of conversion
From discrete R2R architecture to ultra-low-noise supplies, every detail is crafted to let nothing stand between you and the original recording. Discover the uncompromising design philosophy behind the Purist Statement DAC where native, bit-accurate signal conversion and precision-engineered power delivery unite to preserve every nuance of your music.
Pure, native conversion
A native PCM digital-to-analog converter (DAC) operates without highly integrated DAC chips and is built using discrete components. In contrast, current DAC chips often use hybrid technology that involves Delta-Sigma conversion. This approximation method is not precise and distorts the sound. A native DAC, on the other hand, converts the PCM signal directly and more accurately into an analog signal, resulting in better sound quality. Only when the recorded PCM signal is recovered in a bit-accurate manner through native PCM conversion can one achieve an authentic sonic result.
True fidelity comes at a cost
The production costs of a true bit-accurate PCM converter are 500 to 1000 times higher than those of mass-produced Delta-Sigma converters. Manufacturing a native R2R ladder DAC requires extremely tightly tolerated resistors, trimmed by laser, along with ultra-fast switching components. Software control and the use of a microcontroller further increase the cost compared to standard mass-market products.
Direct output, uncompromised sound
Once you’ve heard the coherent, dynamic, and authentic sound of a native PCM converter, you won’t forget it. Another sonic advantage comes from eliminating the I/V stage. Conventional DACs output a very small current that must be converted into usable voltage via a current/voltage stage (I/V conversion)—a process that always causes losses. The PCM converter, however, generates the required output voltage directly and without detours.
The 32-bit myth
Most modern DAC chips claim a 32-bit resolution, but a closer look at the data sheets reveals that these 32 bits are not actually processed internally. Often, what’s really inside is a 5- or 8-bit PCM DAC followed by a 1-bit DSD DAC. The label “32-bit DAC” is misleading and does not reflect reality.
Power makes perfect
The quality of the power supply is crucial for optimal sound performance, and here, power supplies play a central role. Unfortunately, many manufacturers offer so-called “monster power supplies” at inflated prices, assuming that more is better. But in reality, what matters is an ultra-fast, highly stable, and low-noise power supply to achieve full sound resolution.
Precision in every detail
To even resolve a 24-bit signal, a noise floor of at least 144 dB is required. Many manufacturers overlook this fact and do not even specify it in their data sheets. Our power supplies, on the other hand, achieve a signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) of over 150 dB—a level even battery-based systems can’t match. At 24 bits, the smallest voltage change (Least Significant Bit, LSB) is around 100 nanovolts. Only a custom-designed precision power supply can meet these exacting standards.
Power supply for high fidelity
Power supplies advertised with oversized capacitors often don’t help—these large capacitors have internal resistance, which causes voltage drops under dynamic load. This destroys resolution, especially for the smallest bits, due to fluctuating voltages. In contrast, our power supplies are designed without output buffer capacitors, ensuring that nothing interferes with signal fidelity. We’ve rethought the entire concept of the power supply to guarantee uncompromised sound quality.
Your Statement
Engineered without compromise, every component in the purist Statement DAC serves the music. From ultra-low-noise power supplies and jitter-free clocking to feedback-free analog circuitry, its design ensures an analog output of breathtaking clarity and realism.
